Radiology

The Department of Radiology in Swami Vivekanand Multispeciality Hospital provides diagnose of diseases using various imaging techniques

Radiology

Radiology is a discipline that has revolutionized the way surgery is performed. Today there is a growing acceptance for IR, with the medical fraternity embracing it into their respective practices. The simplicity of the procedure, coupled with quick recovery time, and the painless aspect of the treatment, are the driving attributes that puts this practice in the forefront of other invasive surgical methods. At Swami Vivekanand Hospital, we are constantly exploring possibilities in demonstrating new methods of non-invasive cure. We started with offering simple angioplasty, and now our scope of treatment has broadened to areas of the brain and spinal cord. A radiologist, through extensive clinical work and related research, may also specialize in one or more radiology subspecialties. Radiologic technologists perform diagnostic imaging examinations and perform radiation therapy treatments. Radiologic technologists who perform medical imaging examinations work closely with radiologists and are responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. Radiologic technologists work directly with patients and are responsible for explaining procedures, positioning patients on the examining table and adjusting immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specific body areas. The technologist moves the imaging equipment into position and adjusts equipment controls based on his or her knowledge of the procedure.
